Building “The Lab”
Nov 29 Written By Mida Pezeshkian, PhD
Hello, this is Mida Pezeshkian, Founder of STEMA_cg. Thank you for visiting The Lab. I would like to begin our first blog post by sharing our origin story of why we are building The Lab. My goal is to leverage these posts to share the frameworks and philosophy of STEMA_cg to build a knowledge sharing base for our readers and partners.
As a former scientist and researcher, I tend to think of everything as an experiment. This makes my professional and personal life a laboratory of many experiments. In my professional career, I have had the privilege of testing my hypotheses and models across a wider range of highly technical and complex fields in STEM. My academic career began in chemistry as an undergraduate and intern chemist in biopharma followed by my graduate and postdoctoral work in biology, where I identified key mechanisms driving chemo-resistance and relapse in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and helped patent a novel biosensor detecting cell-cell interaction. Later, I joined the industry in biotechnology, clinical diagnostics, and health technology, where I held leadership positions in strategy and product.
This interdisciplinary career track provided me the opportunity to design, test, and optimize my frameworks & models through experimentation and execution. Each of the frameworks at STEMA_cg have been validated in real-life scenarios by applying the scientific method along with creative problem solving to drive product success.
This is why we are building The Lab on these tested frameworks tailored to each business objective and market requirements. Follow our journey as we build The Lab and grow STEMA_cg.
